Wassup, y'all? 2017 has been quite a year. I dunno if it's better or worse than 2016. I guess it has a mixed reaction. With politics, nasty weather, horrific mass shootings, and weirdos making the news...it can seem hopeless. But I believe there is hope. To me, hope was the theme for 2017. A hope for real positive change. The changes will get even bigger in 2018. I usually point out the highlights of my life this year in these journals so here it goes:
- Started "Inside JFM Studios" (Youtube Series)
- Quit Facebook for nine months
- Started live streaming on Youtube
- Finished Jeff & Taylor Episode 13
- Sold at Nagu-Con in Helena, Montana
- Recorded my Let's Play of Resident Evil 4
- Enjoyed a great year of boxing (Terence Crawford unifying all four belts was the biggest thing for me)
- Got into Fairy Tail (now one of my favorite animes)
- Recorded my first Halloween Special in three years.
- Sold at SenshiCon in Anchorage, Alaska
- Sold at PopCon in Fairbanks, Alaska
- Got copies of J&T Volume 1 in the local Comic Shop
So yeah, those are the highlights! Also, I really enjoyed playing Watchdogs 2 and Resident Evil 7. So hang on folks, 2018 will be a busy year for me. Might have to close commissions in January just so I can work on J&T episode 14. Hope you guys have a very happy new year! May your wishes come true.
DA Is Changing Soon?
Don't know how long we have until DA changes its look for good. I gotta say, I've had lots of great memories here on DA...both good and bad. Mostly good. And it's all thanks to you guys. I've met some pretty incredible people here. And although a lot of you followed me for my Loud House content, I hope you enjoy my original works too. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not quitting DA. Not by a long shot. I'm just gonna miss this format that I've enjoyed for like nine years.
It'll take some time getting used to the Eclipse look, but it was bound to happen. Stay strong, DA friends!

The History of Jeff and Taylor
2000-2003
I was in fourth grade when I first created Jeff. I guess he’s a caricature of me, but I tend to put a bit of myself in most of my main characters. A year later, I created Taylor—who isn’t based on anyone I knew, he’s 100% fictional. I made different books with the boys going on different adventures. Like going to another dimension and finding treasure in New York City back when I called the series, “Two Big Idiots”. They were random and fun, but it lacked supporting characters.
2004-2007
November 16, 2004. That’s the date where I decided to put the boys in an official series, simply
What I've Been Up To
Happy 2020, guys! I know we're 22 days in, but whatever. In case you're wondering, I'm feeling much better than I've been for the last two months. I'm out of that emotional rut...for the most part. I mean, I had some negative feelings yesterday, but it's normal to have a slip up here and there. Taking Vitamin D pills really helps to fight sadness.
Well as for my art, you've probably noticed I've been uploading more monsters and strange "fantasy" drawings. Just wanted to draw stuff out of my comfort zone and show that I'm versatile on my ideas. The 'Jeff & Taylor' comic is my baby, of course, but I got other cool ideas to showcase
A Decade of Art
Well well well. It's been a long time since I wrote a journal entry. This holiday season wasn't the best for me. I'm in a bit of an emotional rut, but I'll dig myself out as soon as the new decade hits. I won't do my yearly highlights, but I will show you my favorite works of the 2010's! I'm not perfect, but I'm getting better and better each year. May you guys have a happy 2020~
-Love,
JFM

Quite a list of accomplishments. Though I personally think 2017 was worse than 2016. 2016 was a sad year, full of celebrity deaths, especially some that were shot (I know that can happen to anyone). 2017 had bad politics, the FCC and their deal with net neutrality, hurricanes and other storms, mass shootings, the suicide bombers, racism all over again... and I guess The Emoji Movie for stooping to the lowest of lows for an animated film being nothing but product placement, even when we had a lot of incredible stuff in the entertainment business.
Speaking of which, the entertainment business, in movies and games have had a lot of cool stuff. Pixar hit it big with Coco, Dreamworks had Captain Underpants, the three MCU films that came out this year, Wonder Woman, etc. And let's not forget the Switch came out, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, etc.

It's pretty mixed, but I do declare it worse than 2016.
